ACI Learning Colorado Springs

I was a recent Student that completed the Computer User Support Specialist Program at ACI Learning in person at Colorado Springs. The program was great. The instructors were wonderful, caring, and had tons of knowledge and real-world experience. The most important thing about ACI is "what you put in, is what you'll get out." Meaning if you really have a desire to get into the IT/Cybersecurity career field then just: attend your classes, participate, study, and pass the certificates. Once you've done that then you will be in demand. ACI also assists with helping you find your first job, which I really appreciated. (Resume assistance, mock interviews, job leads, career fairs, etc.)

Joy McGinnis is an excellent mentor at ACI Learning Tech Academy. She’s knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in her students’ success. Her guidance and encouragement made a real difference in my learning experience.

I was a recent Student that completed the Computer User Support Specialist Program at ACI Learning in person at Colorado Springs. To start, the instructors are all amazing, each instructor had their own way of teaching things and this is what made the experience at ACI Learning great. This program prepares you to take your ITIL Foundations Certification, CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ Certification. I took all certifications and passed them on my first try. I would therefore say that ACI Learning’s program is effective and precise in the areas that are taught to prepare you to take your exams. One of the best things about this program is the Career Services that they have to offer. Joy is the Career Mentor at ACI Learning and her performance goes above and beyond. I graduated from a top University here in Colorado Springs and ACI Learning has a better Career Mentoring program than that University. Joy makes the entire experience great, from talking to you individually, helping with creating and/or modifying your resume and helping you with your Job search. She also recommends organizations and groups to join to start networking if you are new to the IT industry. The great thing is the follow up, after completing the program you are not cut off from help or assistance. Joy has reached out a few times already since only 1 month ago to ask on the progress of my Job search. From my experience there is a clear goal of ACI Learning to get you a Job, and not any Job but one that fits your Experience,Educational, and Certification qualifications. Thank you ACI Learning, and thank you Joy specifically!

Joy McGinnis has been an incredible mentor during my career transition. She brings a mix of encouragement and practical guidance that makes the process less overwhelming and more inspiring. Her ability to highlight transferable skills and remind me of my value in a new industry has been exactly the push I needed. Probably one of the best technical prep academies for veterans looking for an IT job, ever. I was first extremely skeptical about ACI when I first considered and joined but quickly realized during the process that it's probably one of the best prep courses you can take before doing IT. (background about me: prior to ACI, I had almost ZERO IT experience going in, aside from trying to figure out how to run some games on my computer back in the day.) 1. The experience I had with the two helpdesk people in the front was nothing short of incredible. They were both extremely competent, kind, understanding but also clear and firm in adhering to standards at ACI. (Thanks Terrajh and Anthony) 2. I think all the instructors we had were amazing, but did want to highlight Tyler Harris, because he pretty much set up the entire class up for success starting from CompTIA A+ Core 1 and beyond. Also gave us super insightful advice on literally everything tech-related, from realistic expectations in looking for a tech-related job, to academic specific material with literally everything related to CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+ and even beyond that. (Tyler Harris is also a tutor you can find online, if you want a more focused help for yourself). 3. The ONLY negative thing I will say about the layout is that I personally did NOT like how they switched instructors on us every topic. It took a couple days to figure out the teaching style of each instructor and although I actually liked them all, I did start to fall behind trying to figure out how each instructor teaches. 4. For job searching help, both Joy McGinnis and our specific job search instructor Jennifer Basco, I think they both gave us some super realistic and helpful insights that helped me land my first job. Also, Joy did regular check ups with me to help remind me what I needed to be doing (super helpful if you're a forgetful person like me). TBH, I could probably write a full-length review on just Joy herself lol, but for the sake of length, will not and just say, there is enough good things to say about how invaluable she is to finding a job, ESPECIALLY regarding how much she reached out to me after I completed the Computer User Support Specialist program. 5. For the actual content: videos were fantastic but even more so, the practice labs were out of the planet in regards to how amazingly they prepared you for the real deal. Literally some of the labs I did in ACI were almost IDENTICAL to some of the helpdesk tickets I did at work. Cannot believe how well the labs prepared me for actual work. I will say, that I put in ALOT of time doing the work that was assigned to me along with studying and looking at videos. This is NOT a place where other people do the work for you! This is a place where people who are actually diligent need/want guidance to do something they don't know how to do and ACI is AMAZING at filling the role of giving the tools that a student needs for success. Another note: there were students in the class who just wanted to learn something (and use their GI Bill haha). Totally cool if that's you, not knocking you guys at all. Just writing this review so I can put in a good word for the people I'm thankful for at ACI and also to let others know who might find themselves in a similar place like I was a realistic picture of what to expect if you want to pursue a career in IT using ACI's resources.
