Avoid Otter.ai if you value your bank account. They charged me $210 over seven months without ever sending a single receipt or renewal notice to my email. When I caught the charges and reached out, support told me receipts are "opt-in." Their marketing messages weren't "opt-in" however. Total lack of transparency and predatory billing. I haven't logged in since the day I signed up, and cancelled the minute I got off my call that wasn't recorded that day. Their software failed the one time I needed it, and they’ve been ghost-billing me ever since.

Everything makes me so upset. I am a social science student need to conduct research interview and one of my instructor recommended this software. It works for my transcription but the unreasonable billing process without notifying me makes me so frustrated. And as an owner for a business account, I cannot even access my ‘plan’, cancel auto renew by myself and change payment. I was not informed by any term that add another member costs extra money. I add another member (my another account) because I cannot see ‘plan’ for my business account! I just want to see if my membership was cancelled successfully! How ridiculous it is! I paid $240 annual business membership but even cannot operate my account! But I can view ‘plan’ for my basic account. Your company is exploiting business memberships. I want to be nice and polite but what your company did prevent me being a nice customer. The unclear and hidden settings for business account disobey fair trade law. Please see the below two pictures for my business account and for my basic account. Especially pay attention to the time on the bottom right corner. See how customers are deceived, exploited, and restricted. I have submitted request refund but do not have an idea how this will work. The comment “still gets charged after cancellation of subscription” made me really nervous. The amount of money is still pending on my bank account, I will work with my bank to file a claim. If it doesn’t work, I will go to FTC. If not, then take legal action. I hope these info will help some customers, especially those struggling like me.

POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS BEWARE!! This company is predatory and impossible to reach. I never signed up for a paid account, but somehow have been billed hundreds of dollars over the past year. Their support team has not been helpful and they don't offer phone support. The only way I got my money back was by disputing the charges through my credit card company. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I want nothing more to do with this company and would discourage anyone from giving Otter.AI their personal information. Least of all, your credit card.

I will take down this review if you actually allow me to delete this software. BEWARE, this is predatory and spammy software that spreads across your organization like the plague. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Absolutely terrible predatory software that is installed then nearly IMPOSSIBLE to delete without threatening legal action. Once installed on your computer they make it nearly impossible to delete and starts spamming your entire office asking people to join.
