National Academy of Sciences

Effective March 24, 2025 The NAS Building will be closed to the public until further notice. Visitors with an appointment or who are registered to attend an event, or meeting can access the building using the C Street entrance.

The first floor and mezzanine are open to the public, giving visitors the opportunity to see the impressive Great Hall and explore the art galleries, currently featuring the climate science art of Xavier Cortada. Don't miss the outdoor Albert Einstein memorial.

It's not a museum. It's a quiet building where professionals work and conferences are held. It is open to visitors. Inside, art and science are respected on the walls, in the hallways and ceilings. Outside is peaceful and well kept.

The building is a beautiful museum that showcases many scientists in health over the years - would recommend visiting at least once, plus it’s free. It’s also very close to the Lincoln memorial (less than a 10 minute walk). Also apparently there was a music video shot here by cimafunk and wampi called la pomada

First floor is open to the public. The interior is worth seeing in person and there's some neat artwork throughout
