Working with Katie Bacon was a wonderful experience for our son. Her flexible schedule, calm demeanor, and encouraging approach greatly reduced his stress while helping him express his authentic voice in his writing. She was personally invested in his success and consistently checked in to remind him of deadlines, which made a tremendous difference.

We had a fantastic experience working with Educational Advocates, and with Katie Bacon specifically. Katie helped our son with the whole process, from big-picture thinking to the execution of tiny details (of which there are so many!). While working with Katie, our son's writing improved, as did his understanding of planning, preparing, and the commitment to working on something repeatedly until it’s truly ready. Those are all tools he’ll bring with him to college.

We worked with Ildiko Szekely at Educational Advocates College Consulting Corp in preparing our son for the application process. We had such a great experience with her. She was an excellent partner: a great listener, someone who really understood my son, and a thoughtful advisor to us all. She went above and beyond for us. My son really enjoyed working with her and found her so helpful in the process. We would highly recommend.

Our daughter has moderate dyslexia so it was important to us to find a college advisor who was comfortable with students who faced learning challenges. After interviewing a few, we chose Joan and we were so happy with her and the entire process. Joan talked from a place of knowledge about which schools said they offered support and those that really did. She also really listened to our daughter and was an advocate for her, even to us. For example, we had in mind a few reach schools, but Joan helped our daughter articulate to us why some did not make sense for her. In the end, we felt really good about the list of schools to visit and eventually apply to. Once our daughter identified her first choice, Joan helped our daughter create a strategy to become better noticed by the school, and encouraged here to do extra visits. This left our job very easy in the process and kept the stress at home over the college search to a minimum. In the end, our daughter was accepted to her first choice. It proved to give her the support she needed and eventually, a unique program there led to her first job. Joan was instrumental in our daughter's success.

The best thing we ever did as a family was to work with Educational Advocates College Consulting! As a parent, it alleviated the stress involved in helping to find a good school match, and to get requirements done on time. Joan was incredibly knowledgeable and knew of schools we hadn't known about. Joan was reassuring, she gave my sons confidence and helped them to identify what their needs were and what they were looking for, in a school. We all had an excellent experience working with Educational Advocates. I highly recommend utilizing their services.
