Productive Data Systems

Like trying to jam a square peg into a round hole just to make that commission. Dealing with one of the staffers here was impressively worse than going through most of the cognitively grating middlemen in this industry. The good ones actually try to match you up with good fits. Short story, I took a random inbound call, recited a lot of what was already on my resume and job-searching sites, and got a phone interview set up with some client. After doing so, the recruiter made sure to point out things the client didn't like about my resume and how to act and sound for the incoming call, and it was probably my fault for not pulling the plug right then and there, but there is honor in keeping to obligations and I thought I'd at least meet the guy first. So their client called me the next day sounding disinterested, reciting a list of questions that were roughly within scope but way off as far as the job description I'd been fed, and with no perceivable interest in learning about me as a person. I actually had to interject through his outro just to learn whether the position even held long-term potential, which led to an awkward mutual pause since it was more of a short-term gig with question marks at the end. Because of that in combination with the interviewer's attitude, the job was clearly not a fit. I don't feel PDS gave me accurate information about either the job or its associated duration, did the opposite of warming either side up for the call, and I probably could have saved a lot of time and energy by just going direct. It might also have averted damaging a potential business relationship, though any meaningful relationship shouldn't be skewed by the behavior of some 3rd party.
