Lessonly by Seismic

Lessonly has gone downhill since Seismic acquired them in 2021. Our company was a loyal Lessonly customer for many years despite it being the most expensive option compared to similar options like Trainual. We chose to pay for our account annually however, once the company was purchased by Seismic we ran into multiple billing issues. First, they shutdown our account claiming non-payment but upon reaching out, their billing department was able to locate our annual payment and cited an "internal error". The following year they did not attempt to process our annual payment and again shutdown our account for non-payment. There was no communication outlining that a bill was due or that they would be removing access to our account. We were finally able to reach our account manager after multiple attempts and being passed from agent to agent over the course of multiple weeks. Our account manager claimed that we were provided with a refund due to an accounting error on their end and that the contract was then cancelled after that refund. We never received a refund from Lessonly nor any communication that our contract was cancelled. When speaking with their billing team they stated "It's possible that due to the account being closed, no further records are available". So, ultimately they have no documentation to support their claims which do not match our records. We were then informed that our price would be increasing over 30% if we wanted to start a new contract. We made the decision not to renew and instead move to a much more affordable option that offers the same functionality. To top the situation off, they would not allow us access to our account to export our content but instead sent an incomplete portion of our content to us through Google Drive. Despite multiple attempts, we are still unable to get them to provide us with the rest of our content so we are now out years of work that we will have to recreate from scratch.

Lessonly has been a great partner for our company. Excellent customer-service, exciting events, and a great platform make it one of the best around. Would recommend for any organization looking to improve their online learning!
