Karl is incredible, they really value their business. Most web hosts over time get a little worse but Inmotion has actually gotten better, better servers, better support. Kudos!

I'm giving 5 stars for customer support 3 star for reliability ( NGINX issues/ bots/ 5+ hours tech support and diagnosing) Updated Summary 7/29/ 2025: I want to be fair with my reviews. Tech support is helpful and they have implemented measures to remedy my situation. BOTS and crawlers are a huge problem. I've been working with their tech support a lot to mitigate a bots issue. Essentially, bots were eating up server resources causing down time and mitigation methods have been applied. So if you are having similar issues, just giving a helpful heads up to everyone. I hate having to cave to using Cloudflare - I wish webhosting companies would offer such technologies instead of having to go to another 3rd party. The other option is to put everything behind a login. Circa 07/27/2025 I want to say that tech support has been good to work with, after getting past the 'work with your developers....' or 'recommend using Cloudflare...." brush offs. If you are a php developer, to save you all a headache, NGINX has issues with PHP worker limitations and issues with their tech support needing to " rebuild the NGINX config " ... After several tickets and going back with escalated tech support, after dealing with bots with htaccess file amending, them looking through the logs, we are trying another solution to see if my shared hosting websites go down. Using the exact same code on one of the big name competitors, which I never had any downtime issues, I have had nothing but headaches. Additionally, I'll be putting robots.txt in my domains to help mitigate bots. So if you find you are having issues like me, I hope this saves you time. I may bump this rating to 3 stars if the solution we are working on fixes the reliability issues. ----------- Initial gripe --------- After switching from another hosting company hoping for better service, I am VERY FRUSTRATED and DISAPPOINTED with in Motion. I have spent hours with escalated tech support trying to resolve why my websites keep crashing over and over and over again. At first low level tech support tries to blow you off by 'consult with your developers... - I AM THE DEVELOPER! InMotion has to go in an clear issues with NGINX with what seems every week; my code is clean, I am not running anything intensive, and their logs showed bot attacks - and working with them, I have updated my htaccess file as directed, and made sure PHP workers were not the issue - after numerous support tickets, my main site and all my sites keep going down - and I get told to use 'Cloudflare' - I don't want to use Cloudflare. I have never had to spend so much time on tech support with the other hosting company I was with, but at this point, Im tired of the constant downtime and having to do the dance every week. And it seems like EVERY WEEKEND when there is no phone tech support everything goes down!!!

InMotion Hosting is by far the most unprofessional hosting company I’ve ever dealt with. I purchased a VPS plan at the beginning of January, only for them to abruptly terminate my plan without any explanation or warning. This is completely unacceptable! Their lack of transparency and communication shows a blatant disregard for their customers. I contacted their support to find out why this happened, and all I got were vague, useless responses. For a company claiming to be reliable, this level of incompetence is shocking. If you’re considering InMotion Hosting, save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. A hosting company that can’t even respect its customers enough to provide a reason for terminating a service doesn’t deserve your time or money. Avoid at all costs!

HOSTING NIGHTMARE!! I have been with InMotion the last 3 years. Since they moved their physical servers in mid-May, I have lost half of my website (pages, products, information, pricing, photographs - just disappeared! Not deleted - but non-existent anymore). I can prove they existed in wayback machine... The backups were only of the last few weeks, so didn't go back far enough. Numerous chats and emails to complain made no difference... they just said they didn't know why it happened, gave no explanation and no suggestion of remediation. Have also experienced my website being down every day for the past several months - despite them always saying there's no issues with their servers. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. :(

Our company has been using inmotion hosting for several years now. We've been very happy and satisfied with the speed, reliability, ease of use, and the great customer service! The servers are blazing fast and easy to configure. They have some of the most competitive pricing we had seen especially for what they provide. We have used many of the most highly rated hosting sites previously and none of them match our experience with inmotion hosting. If you are a business owner this is the partner you want for your website and online needs!
