I was sold a $10,000 trust for asset protection, but the tax implications of placing a home in a trust in Texas were never disclosed. Had I followed their advice, I would be facing a significantly higher property tax bill. Based on Texas Homestead laws, both real estate lawyers and corporate strategy firms have warned me that this approach is a complete scam and not recommended at all. On top of the misleading information, they took my payment and it took eight months to receive the trust documents. I’ve requested a refund multiple times, but I’ve received nothing. I strongly advise against working with Stephan or anyone at Controllers LTD.
