I have known Otis Florence for many years. We both participate in an active and ongoing group designed to increase knowledge, professionalism and effectiveness in handling the complex challenges faced by business brokers in the valuation, sale, merger, and acquisition of privately held businesses. Everyone said it would be difficult to sell my plumbing business. My story, however, was far from difficult. I believe the fact that I hired Otis Florence is what made my experience absolutely positive and timely. After hiring Mr. Florence, he created a prospectus for my company. Immediately, we had interested. Mr. Florence knew exactly what my requirements and hopes were. With this information in mind, he searched for prospective buyers. He verified that they were not a competitor, just looking for information; and that they had the history and resources to purchase my company. Mr. Florence was not only working for me, he also worked with me. That was extremely important to me. Using the information I had given him, he vetted all potential buyers. He spoke to them all on my behalf, researched their backgrounds and their finances. If they met the criteria, he would let me know and begin negotiations. At that point, he continued negotiations until I was completely satisfised with the results. He never made a decision without contacting me for my approval. At this point, I thought the process was done and I just needed to wait for my check. I was not even close to being right. Mr. Florence worked with me each step of the way. His office walked my office through all the paperwork and information the purchaser was requesting. Mrs. Florence helped by office manager compile all the information needed and helped present it in a professional format. We had no idea the amount of time and energy required for this process. We could never had done it on our own...Mrs. Florence was a godsend! After everything was said and done, contracts drawn up, we shook hands and the deal was done. There is no way I can thank Mr. and Mrs. Florence enough. The knowledge and expertise they have, made the sale of my company possible.
