I’m trying to keep this brief, though there have been so many issues with the system Chris installed. Before diving in, I want to acknowledge that Chris is a nice person. He genuinely tried to get things right, but unfortunately, nothing was ever fully fixed. It seems like he was either overwhelmed by the complexity of the problems or, after multiple failed attempts, decided it wasn’t worth continuing, especially since the system never lived up to what was promised. I might have been too lenient and forgiving throughout the process. I believe I was one of his earlier clients, and this all started around late 2020. Chris worked on it sporadically over the course of a year, trying to find solutions, but eventually, I stopped hearing from him altogether. You might wonder why I’m writing a review now, so long after the fact. The reason is simple: I spent over $5,000 on this project, and my partner finally couldn't bear the ongoing stress it caused me every day. The constant issues and the cost of trying to fix or replace everything eventually took its toll. For the amount of money, I should have received what I paid for. What I ended up with never met expectations. Here's a list of what was done:, 6 outdoor smart cameras installed, Whole-home internet mesh network, MyQ garage door automation, Outdoor floodlights connected to smart switches (I provided the lights), Multiple light switches for automation, Hub to control everything, Integration of all systems into one app for automation and control, A fee for education on how to use everything. The goal was simple: enhance home security, simplify life with automation, and integrate everything into a single app. Instead, the only thing this project has given my family is more stress and frustration, with no automation or integration to speak of. The security aspect is especially lacking, as some cameras still buffer constantly, and others take minutes to load—completely inadequate during a security event when immediate access to footage is critical. To be fair, the garage door automation works—sort of—but that’s about it. Everything else has been a failure. Nothing integrates into one app, and each system struggles to communicate with the others. Voice commands work about 50% of the time. The app shows lights as being on when they’re off, or off when they’re on. The voice commands also provide inconsistent feedback, saying lights are on when they’re not, or vice versa. Every day feels like a battle to make it all work, and it’s beyond frustrating. While Chris was a nice guy and did try to fix things, I believe he was either in over his head or simply got tired of the never-ending problems. There were suggestions about swapping out equipment or upgrading systems, but that would only cost me more money. After spending $5K on a system that didn’t work, why would I spend more in the hope of getting what I was originally promised? He did try replacing the hub and the mesh systems, but those efforts didn’t lead to any lasting results. The new results were just patchwork fixes. He did give me credits toward new equipment as we worked through the issues, but none of it helped in the long run. I’m reasonably tech-savvy, but I expected more educational support, as that was part of the original agreement. However, the "education" I received was minimal. I still don’t fully understand the cameras, and the hub is far too complex to be useful without detailed guidance. The Wi-Fi has capabilities I was never shown, and I’ve had to learn things on my own, which is not the point. Despite my efforts, I’m still not able to use the system to its full potential, and that’s only when it’s properly working. After a year of fixes and unfulfilled promises, he walked away. I should have been more assertive, but I was so worn out by the system that I almost didn’t want to deal with it anymore. There were lots of promises, but nothing ever came to fruition. Too many nights, I find myself stressed instead of benefiting from the system I was sold.

Chris was absolutely awesome to work with! From beginning to end, he stayed with the project and made sure everything was working and met our needs. I completely trust his ability to set up our security system and highly recommend him!

Chris was highly recommended and he exceeded our expectations. He is friendly and personable, yet professional. We told him our concerns and explained what we were after for security and automation. He offered several solutions and told us other options for both security and home automation. Chris took the time to fully explain the different programs and answered all our questions. We had time to make our decisions and Chris responded in a timely manner to our decisions and set a date and time for installation. He arrived on time and finished the project as quoted. Chris set up times to return to train us on the use of the equipment and insure we know the proper operation of the security and automation systems. Follow-up is a weakness in many businesses, but it is a strong point with Chris.

Chris Hansen did a fantastic job working with us on updating our stereo and home entertainment system plus looking at improvements to our home security. Rather than being tied to a particular product line, he worked with us to customize for our semi rural location, wifi issues and budget. I've never heard of a service that promised to "shop the sales". His installation included training which made the latest technology seem easy, especially when he said to call him if we forgot anything.

Chris helped me out of a jam with immediate, knowledgeable service. Our existing router was not working and I was in over my head. I called Chris and he was at our house later that afternoon. He set me up with a google mesh system that is working great. No internet is not an option with 4 kids in virtual school and Chris delivered an immediate solution that had us back online in a couple of hours. I would highly recommend him for any of your networking needs!
